Flat Iron Square and its managing company Venue Group are very pleased to donate almost £20,000 to the Only A Pavement Away charity.

£19,300 was raised by auctioning off three tables to watch the Euro 2020 Final at the popular Borough based food, drinks and events site earlier this month.

Only A Pavement Away is a charity supporting people facing homelessness, prison leavers, and veterans into careers within hospitality.

Flat Iron Square’s matchday viewing packages sold out almost instantly right throughout the tournament, becoming one of London’s most in-demand fan parks to watch the games with fellow fans. Following an overwhelmingly positive reaction to auctioning off the first table, two further tables were auctioned off, with football fans willing to pay thousands to gain access to watch the game and soak up all the atmosphere from the Flat Iron Square garden.

Flat Iron Square and Only A Pavement Away are now working on a new partnership to provide opportunities for the people that the charity supports.

Venue Group’s UK Operations Manager Matt Dockray: “As part of any activation event at Flat Iron Square, we focus on community, bringing people together and doing what we can to support our industry and colleagues. During the Euros, we were overwhelmed with customers and fans wanting to be part of the wonderful experience that the competition had to offer. As demand grew and the tournament progressed, we decided to turn this attention towards the support of London based charity, ‘Only A Pavement Away’ by auctioning off a table for the exceptional cause helping homeless groups, veterans and ex-offenders by establishing themselves into hospitality careers”

“By the end of the tournament, we were able to donate nearly £20,000 to help the charity support those around us to achieve the career and success they deserve.”

Ben Lovett, founder of Venue Group added: “Creating venues for people to gather and experience culture and creativity together is core to what we do with our family of venues. Creating opportunities for people to work and be sustained whilst delivering first rate hospitality has been a huge, if not the greatest honour. Only A Pavement Away believes in people and giving people opportunities, especially in this sector. I think the work they are doing is fantastic, and am so happy to be able to help channel the proceeds from the auction for the Euros their way. We hope to continue to support and work alongside them moving forward.”
