OAPA Launch A Huge Success
OAPA was established to help those on the streets, or people who are ‘sofa surfing’ find employment by creating an effective conduit between employers in the hospitality industry and organisations supporting the homeless, ex-offenders and ex-service personnel.
Through the programme each candidate receives full training, together with a network of support from companies and charities, underpinned by a 12-month post engagement support package ensures that each individual has the best chance of success in turning their life around and boosting their self-worth and self-esteem.
OAPA has worked closely with CRISIS from the beginning. Through its own research CRISIS have has shown that a joined-up approach, where housing and employment support is provided simultaneously, is a more sustainable way of preventing future homelessness and reducing the chances of repeat homelessness for people at risk.
OAPA aims to have up to 500 homeless people in jobs within the first year.
