Laine Pub Company
The Laine Pub Company (LPC) operates 55 pubs in the London and Brighton areas. Originally called InnBrighton, the company was formed in 2007 as a result of the merger of Brighton based multiple licensed retailers Zelgrain and C-Side. The first London pub entered the estate in 2011 and in 2014 the company changed its name to Laine, reflecting the growing importance of the beer it brews in its breweries under the Laine name. LPC considers its pubs to be ‘third places’ where free-thinking customers can invest loyalty, emotion and well-earned free time in an inviting, indulging and, ultimately, inspiring environment. The company’s cultural and ecological ethos underpins its commercial objectives, ensuring that its pubs remain relevant to and popular with the communities in which they operate. The unique way in which LPC partners with its management teams ensures that the welcome, service and choice is personal and individual – conditions the company believes must be met to ensure the success of the 21st century pub. In August 2016, LPC announced it had created a separate beer business known as Laine Brew Co to manage its four existing micro breweries and to volume brew its own range of craft beer in a brand new brewing facility being built in Sussex. In 2017 LPC became the second operator to join EI Group’s managed expert programme and currently operates two pubs under the Mash Inns joint venture.
